Chiharu was amazing, very accommodating and personalized experience! She was very knowledgeable and really provided excellent overview and tour of Japanese culture and local shops! We will definitely recommend and also come back with Chiharu to tour again!

The day was really well planned.  We loved the silk thread activity - it was really unique to anything else we have done traveling.  And we love what we made.  The walk around the neighborhood was a great addition and we were able to buy some ceramics and tea to take home.  We appreciated the stop to rest and enjoy donuts!  Lunch was delicious and we were happy to get to try the traditional Japanese seating experience.  The Samurai experience was a highlight for the kids.  We loved dressing up and learning the moves.  Everyone was laughing and having the best time.  Nina was an amazing guide through our the day.  Attentive to what we needed, well planned and so much fun to be around!

Akiko gave us one of the most memorable experiences of our entire trip to Japan. From the moment we met her, she brought Tokyo's history and culture to life in such a warm, thoughtful, and engaging way.

 

The samurai experience was incredible — not just fun, but deeply immersive and educational. Akiko explained the history, traditions, and meaning behind samurai culture in a way that made everything feel authentic and special. Learning to handle the katana and perform traditional movements is something our family will never forget.

 

She also took us to an amazing local lunch spot we never would have found on our own — absolutely delicious and a perfect window into everyday Tokyo life. Beyond that, she curated wonderful shopping stops, introducing us to unique stores and hidden gems tailored to our interests.

 

What truly set Akiko apart was her kindness, depth of knowledge, attention to detail, and her ability to make the day feel personal rather than scripted. She balanced history, culture, food, shopping, and fun effortlessly. By the end of the tour, we felt less like tourists and more like we had spent the day with a knowledgeable local friend.
If you're visiting Tokyo and want an experience that is authentic, memorable, and exceptionally well curated, we cannot recommend Akiko highly enough. She was outstanding.
